A problem is a chance for you to do your best.
Duke Ellington
In my career I have managed small rural pharmacy departments, high-volume outpatient pharmacies, and just about everything in between. Working in healthcare technology, I have led cross-functional teams from both the vendor and provider sectors.
My leadership path at Swisslog Healthcare was quite similiar to my work with GE Healthcare- where I first led project and consulting efforts before taking on product leadership responsibilities. I have benefited considerably from my operational understanding of these businesses while having a unique lens on customer and market challenges from my pharmacy practice background.
My career began in the United States Army Reserves, first as an enlisted leader in Pharmacy and later as a commissioned Pharmacy Officer.
Leader
When asked what do I do for a living, I often reply that I solve problems. In my career, I have changed who I solve problems for, and how I solve them, but I am always solving problems.
My success stems from a strong business acumen, a broad set of leadership skills, and a commitment to learning something new every day.
Problem Solver
As a practicing pharmacist, I was responsible for helping my patients and colleagues. As my career progressed in the field of technology, I was able to use these new tools to help other healthcare professionals address their practice problems and improve patient care.
I have been fortunate to meet and work with pharmacists and IT professionals across North America, The Caribbean and the globe. Learning more about these talented and diverse healthcare professionals has been the most enjoyable part of my career.
I enjoy working with students and I am a preceptor for pharmacy students from the University of Colorado, Regis University and my alma-mater, The State University of New York at Buffalo.
